Glenwood United Parish is located on North Highway 29, at the
top of the hill overlooking Lake Minnewaska. Our Beautiful site was donated by
Grant Hustad and son, owners of several local farm implement dealerships. Our
current building was constructed in 1977, with a new narthex added in
1990
Our congregation represents the 1971 union of Glenwood
United Methodist Church(founded in 1881) and Union
Congregational United Church of Christ of Glenwood (founded in
1885)
Earlier, members of the Presbyterian
Church in Sedan had joined Glenwood Congregational Church and members
of the Grove
Lake United Methodist Church had joined Glenwood United Methodist
Church , both in 1966
We are proud to be aligned with both the United Church of Christ and
United Methodist Denominations, and find that having access to both the
personnel and institutional resources of two denominations is a great blessing
to us. (members of United Parish are not asked to choose whether they will
consider themselves to be UCC or UMC.)
Many people who've committed themselves to membership in United Parish
have grown up in othe denominations.
